Manual Therapy

The Physio Doctor is a hands-on physiotherapy clinic which provides treatment to patients by highly educated physiotherapists. This treatment primarily includes specialised manual therapy techniques in which the physiotherapist will be required to place their hands in specific locations on your body based off of research, clinical knowledge, and education in order to provide the most specific and effective treatment possible. If you are uncomfortable with hand positions at any time, please let the treating practitioner know immediately.

Also, forms of ultrasound, electrical stimulation, dry needling, deep tissue massage, therapeutic exercise, gait training, neuromuscular re-education, myofascial release, bone and soft tissue manipulation, as well as other treatment modalities may be used at the discretion of the treating therapist.

Some of the hands-on treatment techniques require deep pressure which may cause slight bruising and increased soreness which may last up to 72 hours. Soreness may also change and refer pain to other parts of the body. This is a typical response to manual therapy techniques and should not be of much concern. But, if you have further questions, please ask your treating practitioner for more information.

The time of recovery and number of treatments required can vary depending on each patient’s medical history, age, stage of injury etc.
