WorkSafe

When you have had an injury at work, you may be eligible for physiotherapy treatments to assist in your recovery. WorkSafe can help with medical costs (including physiotherapy) when required as a result of a work-related injury or illness under Victorian workers’ compensation legislation.

When you have had an injury at work, you may be eligible for physiotherapy treatments to assist in your recovery. All of our physios are registered with WorkSafe.

We aim to not only treat your pain, but also to restore function and prevent re-injury; in order to give you a long term solution, by using evidence based practice, outcome measures, and give you the tools you need.

Our Physiotherapists are registered with WorkSafe under the

Early Intervention Physiotherapy Framework (EIPF)

Early Intervention Physiotherapy Framework (EIPF)

The Early Intervention Physiotherapy Framework (EIPF) is a service model that recognises the importance of early treatment in facilitating return to work and return to health outcomes. As part of the EIPF agreement, reinbursement rates are usually higher than the standard WorkSafe physiotherapy fee schedule. For initial and standard consultations, the higher rate starts from date of injury and can be applied for 7 months. This is designed to encourage early intervention as soon as possible after an injury. Increased focus on treatment in the early stages will improve return to work and health outcomes for the patient.

Why do we charge a gap?

Because WorkSafe claims require a lot of the physiotherapist’s time outside of treatment hours, we charge a gap payment of the difference in total cost per treatment session. Our priority is to give you exceptional outcomes. Charging a gap fee gives us the time to provide every bit of care other physios may not be able to offer.

We will manage your claim, liaise with your case manager, schedule return to work case conferences, request ongoing or additional physiotherapy sessions when we deem they are appropriate, write up monthly certificates of capacity for your employer, write up a physiotherapy management plan every 12 weeks on your progress, and complete detailed medical reports when needed.

A gap fee allows us the time to offer you a thorough assessment and management plan, follow up with your treatment outside of formal appointments, and align your physio treatment with treatment and opinions you may also receiving from other medical/allied health professionals.

What if my claim hasn’t been approved but I need immediate physiotherapy?

It can take a few weeks for a claim to be approved, so if you need to come in for physio treatment while you wait, please do! You will be required to pay for the sessions privately until your claim number comes through, but once it does, WorkSafe will reimburse you for the costs of the sessions. WorkSafe will not reimburse you if your claim is not approved.
